My Story
Hello! My name is Scott Shepherd. I am originally a native of Linton, Indiana, where I grew up and graduated high school. I have gone on to obtain a B.S. from Indiana State University and a M.S. degree from Ohio University. My professional career has been split between education (teaching middle school and high school science and math classes, as well as serving as an athletic director) and life & health insurance, specifically in the senior market.
I have been married to my wonderful wife, Amanda, since 2005. We have three children, all girls. After several years of living in Indianapolis, we have now moved to the country and love our little 5-acre “farm.” Although it’s a work in progress, we are very proud of the sustainable life we are building here. We currently have 15 chickens that free-range the property, to go along with the 3 dogs, 3 cats, and a pet rabbit that live in the house! We’re hoping to add some goats and a few more garden beds, along with a greenhouse, in the near future!
We have also been active as fosters for local animal shelters throughout our lives. We enjoy taking in dogs and cats, helping them adjust and become ready for adoption! Plus, it really helps the shelter keep space open for new animals all the time!
